Director Honey Trehan has revealed that actor Diljit Dosanjh immediately signed onto the biographical drama ‘Satluj’ (formerly ‘Punjab ’95’) after reading its very first draft, long before production faced a turbulent multi-year delay. The revelation resurfaced after the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry ordered the OTT platform to pull the film down within 48 hours of its surprise digital premiere, citing non-compliance with the IT Rules, 2021. The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal, follows the real-life crusade of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who investigated illegal police abductions and secret mass cremations during the Punjab insurgency before being murdered himself in 1995.
