UP horror: Sold by mother for Rs 16,000 and 10 saris, 12-year-old raped by ‘buyer’, auto driver

A 12-year-old girl from Bihar was allegedly sold by her mother for Rs 16,000 and 10 saris to a 40-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh. After a sham temple marriage, she was repeatedly raped and later abandoned, only to be preyed upon by an auto driver before her rescue. The mother, the man, and the auto driver have been arrested.
