A Liberia-flagged container ship, MSC ELSA 3, capsized near Kochi after leaving Vizhinjam port. The Indian Coast Guard launched a major rescue. Twenty-one crew members were rescued from liferafts. Efforts are underway to stabilize the vessel and assess risks.
